KSeF Outage

When the application cannot establish a connection with KSeF, an authentication error message is displayed on the screen. Depending on the situation, the message may be red (lack of a signing certificate) or display information about offline mode availability (when the certificate is present).

Causes of KSeF Unavailability​

CauseDescription
Environment OutageThe KSeF environment (test, demo, or production) is temporarily unavailable.
Downtime SimulationAn administrator has enabled a downtime simulation in a test environment to test offline mode.
Network IssuesTemporary problems connecting to KSeF servers.

What Can I Do?​

If I Have a Signing Certificate​

If you possess a certificate with the type signing:

  1. βœ… You can issue invoices in offline mode.
  2. Go to the Invoice Creator β€” the application will automatically switch to offline mode.
  3. Invoices will be digitally signed and placed in the offline queue.
  4. Once KSeF access is restored, send the batch of invoices β€” see Offline Invoices.

If I Don't Have a Signing Certificate​

If you do not possess a signing certificate:

  1. ❌ You cannot issue invoices in offline mode.
  2. Go to the Certificates section and add a certificate with the type signing.

Downtime Simulations (Test and Demo Environments)​

The KSeF test and demo environments may have downtime simulation enabled. This is a mechanism that allows testing offline mode without an actual system failure.

How to Use Simulations for Testing​

  1. The administrator enables the downtime simulation for the selected environment (test or demo).
  2. The message: "Administrator confirms the activation of downtime simulation for this environment" appears on the screen.
  3. You can test the full cycle:
    • Issuing an offline invoice.
    • Signing with a certificate.
    • Sending the batch after "restoring" access.

Tracking Simulation Information​

Follow the announcements on the main page of the service β€” they will inform you in advance about planned simulation periods for the environments. This allows you to plan your offline mode tests accordingly.

Reconnecting​

Regardless of the cause, you can click the Retry Authorization button at any time to attempt to re-establish a connection with KSeF.
